Remembering Dennis J Veater

Condolence By: Anonymous - In my way of honoring and thanking every service member engaged in the battle for our freedom I try to read of every service members ultimate sacrifice so I CAN BE FREE... I just (3 years late) read of Lance Cpl. Veater's death and story of how he was preparing to come home, marry his sweetheart and begin a life as an responsible, honoring new father. I was brought to tears in reading his and his fiancee's story.
I hope in some way, that God allows Dennis's and all the other fallen Marines and soldiers to know how THANKFUL I am of them and how I try to burn their name into my memory to HONOR THEM. THis Monday, Memorial day will be a somber day for me and I will not use this day to go to a lake or barbecue or sit around drinking like most Americans do. I will visit the local military cemetery and walk the final resting places ( of the BRAVE ONES THAT STOOD UP FOR ME AND LAID DOWN THEIR LIFE SO I CAN BE FREE) AND I WILL THANK THEM.! I WILL HONOR THEM AND DENNIS.

Dennis, I pray you are in everlasting peace and watching your young son grow up, I pray your fiancee, Angalene, has found the strength and will to somehow put her fractured life back together, I pray for each of your Mother, Father and siblings in that their tears have been replaced with happy PROUD memories of you.

THANK YOU MARINE... THANK YOU FOR YOUR BRAVERY. I HONOR THE MEMORY OF U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dennis J. Veater, 20 years old from Jessup, Penn.

Condolence By: Anonymous - For every freedom we have, some brave person fought and died. We always want it to be someone else's friend, neighbor, son or daughter. We always want to respect that sacrifice, but not feel the pain so personal, so close that hurts.

I am sorry that Dennis had to be one of those people we talk about and honor.

Love and peace to you and your family. The price is painful, yet necessary for our freedom and survival.

Condolence By: Anonymous - Dennis is my baby brother. The youngest of 6 children, a twin, a beloved father. We will all feel the pain of this loss for the rest of our lives. It shocks me everyday that I see another site in which we can honor the fallen, the heros that never made it home, young men like my brother.
This (and the loss of all the other service members) seems so unjust, unbelievable. I keep thinking that one day I will wake up and realize that I had been trapped in a really bad nightmare. But, reality sets in and I know this is not true. I look at the pictures of this smiling kid I knew, the kid that loved to parade around the house in his bikini briefs, the kid that made up songs, dances and games, the kid that would call me, his big sister, to make sure that I was okay, and I remember the wonderful man he was growing into.
I will never forget the love he had in his heart for everyone, it didn't matter who, especially for his son, Dominick. The minute he found out he was going to be a father, he loved that baby with all he was. That character is so rarely seen in people, but this is the person he was / is.
This is the person that should be remembered, revered and mourned - the young man that never got the chance to show the world, and his son, all the great things he is capable of. Instead of seeing his face at family functions, now, we must rely on pictures and our dreams.
You made us proud Dennis, I hope you did and do not suffer any longer. Eternal peace to you!
With all my love forevermore, Kare Bear
