Our hearts sunk heavy when the neighbors told us why. Daniel is gone, called up by the Good Shepherd too early for family and friends. How this must hurt to the depths, we as Americans are grateful to him for his service in trying to make this world a better place. But the ultimate sacrifice is so hard to bear. We hug his Mom & Dad & relatives & friends. Our son is in the service too, which makes it close to home, but we cannot imagine the suffering of those left behind.
